The Supreme Court did the unthinkable.
What happened was heartbreaking.
And the Supreme Court hit Trump with a nightmare loss, and JD Vance had one response.
The Supreme Court’s Birthright Citizenship Betrayal
RINO Justices Amy Coney Barrett and Chief Justice John Roberts joined the court’s three liberals in authoring what many considered the worst judicial abomination in American history when they ruled that birthright citizenship for babies born to illegal aliens was enshrined in the Constitution.
“Citizenship, then and now,” Roberts wrote in his majority opinion, “was the right to have rights — to freely participate in our political community. The Framers of the Fourteenth Amendment extended that promise to ‘every free-born person in this land.’ We keep that promise today.”
The states and members of Congress who ratified the 14th Amendment following the Civil War clearly intended it to apply to the newly freed slaves so they could gain the right to vote and other privileges afforded American citizens.
Barrett, Roberts, and the court’s three liberals now treat it like a loophole for illegal aliens to race across the border before giving birth so their kids can now have access to welfare benefits and so Democrats can sign them up as voters.
But Justice Brett Kavanaugh opened the door to reversing this travesty.
In his opinion, Kavanaugh wrote that there was no such constitutional right as birthright citizenship for babies born to illegal aliens, but Trump couldn’t end it by executive order.
“In my view, the Executive Order does not violate the Fourteenth Amendment. But the Order does contravene a federal statute, 8 U. S. C. §1401(a). Congress could—consistent with the Fourteenth Amendment—amend §1401(a) or otherwise enact new legislation establishing exceptions to birthright citizenship for children born to foreign citizens unlawfully or temporarily in the country. But Congress has not yet done so,” Kavanaugh wrote.
JD Vance Responds
Vice President JD Vance appeared on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show and offered the official administration response.
Vance blasted the ruling as a direct assault on American sovereignty.
“One of the things we’re going to have to do is just continue to enforce the border, Laura. This was a very disappointing ruling. Of course, we respect it but we also think it was a major, major mistake as Justices [Samuel] Alito and [Clarence] Thomas pointed out. One of the things it might invite, Laura, is, quite literally, people come here on a vacation, give birth, and then the child and family have the full benefits of American citizenship,” Vance began.
Vance noted that the ruling was 5-4, meaning birthright citizenship was “hanging by a thread” and that Kavanaugh’s dissent cracked the door for a legislative fix.
“It suggests why the Supreme Court should have went the other way. I know a lot of conservatives, Laura, certainly the people that I’m talking to, are extremely disappointed. I do think there is a big silver lining here and that’s the simple fact that a lot of legal experts expected this case to go in the wrong direction by 7-2 or even 8-1. The fact that this case was a 5-4 decision effectively means that the concept of birth right citizenship, which is an absurdity to the 14th amendment, that concept is hanging by a thread,” Vance added.
Trump and his supporters are already plotting ways to undo this ruling.
There will be legislation proposed in Congress,
Trump could use his authority as Commander-in-Chief to ban noncitizen female aliens of childbearing age from entering the country.
What is clear is that conservatives will not let this ruling stand.
