AOC got slammed with bad news that hit her like a freight train

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is plotting her political future.

But her dreams may have just crashed and burned before she ever really got the chance to put her plan in motion.

And AOC got slammed with bad news that hit her like a freight train.

AOC Sounds Like a Presidential Candidate

Victories by socialists in Democrat primaries from New York to Colorado show the Bernie Sanders wing of the party is ascendent heading into 2028.

But Sanders, who ran in 2016 and 2020 only to see the Democrat establishment steal the nomination from him both times, will turn 87 in 2028 and won’t run for President.

That leaves a gaping hole in the 2028 Democrat Presidential field for someone to seize the mantle of the socialist base.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is rumored to be preparing a Presidential campaign.

And in an appearance with former Obama chief strategist David Axelrod, Ocasio-Cortez sounded like a candidate preparing to run on a sweeping agenda to transform America into a socialist nation.

“They assume that my ambition is positional; they assume that my ambition is a title or a seat,” Ocasio-Cortez declared. “And my ambition is way bigger than that. My ambition is to change this country.”

“Presidents come and go; Senate, House seats, elected officials come and go, but single-payer healthcare is forever,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “A living wage is forever. Workers’ rights are forever. Women’s rights, all of that.”

AOC Gets a Reality Check

Famed Democrat strategist James Carville thinks there is no way Democrats would nominate a radical socialist like Ocasio-Cortez who supports defunding the police and ICE while also banning private health insurance.

“Let me say something very clearly: The Democrats — not even in ’72 — never nominate the most liberal candidate,” Carville told former Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on an episode of her podcast. “But that’s the fantasy of the right wing, that the Democrats are going to nominate a socialist, urbanist, whatever.”

“I think AOC is remarkably talented, let me be very clear about that. Her staff work is pristine,” Carville added. “But she’s not gonna run for president because she’s not gonna have any chance.”

Carville reminded Van Susteren and her audience that the black vote in South Carolina decides the nomination – they went for Barack Obama in 08, Hillary Clinton in 2016, and Joe Biden in 2020 – and would mobilize to stop a socialist in 2028.

“Remember who decides who the Democratic nominee is, and that is Southern Blacks,” Carville declared. “And I got news for you: They’re not that liberal.”

That bodes well for former Vice President and failed 2024 candidate Kamala Harris, who still holds the endorsement of influential South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn, whose endorsements of Obama, Clinton and Biden delivered the black vote that powered their primary wins.
