The Democratic Socialists of America are on the rise.
Their candidates are winning primaries from coast to coast,
And a Democrat Socialist just made this insane demand to cancel Thanksgiving.
Wisconsin Gubernatorial Candidate Wants to Cancel Thanksgiving
Polls show Democratic Socialist of America (DSA) Francesca Wong is the frontrunner to win the nomination to take on Republican Tom Tiffany in Wisconsin’s Gubernatorial Election.
DSA candidates are already under fire for their platform to abolish the Senate, the Presidency, and the Supreme Court,
But Wong is creating a new level of headaches for Democrats in a must-win state.
That’s because in addition to being a socialist, Wong is as woke as they come.
An old post on X from Wong resurfaced where she called for canceling the Thanksgiving holiday because she claimed it was a racist symbol of colonialism.
“Cancel Thanksgiving. Should have done this in 1621,” Hong wrote. “If it takes a worldwide pandemic for us to realize we should stop celebrating colonialism and the original superspreader event that killed Indegenous [sic] folx [sic] and women so be it.”
Canceling Thanksgiving is the kind of “2020 peak woke” that voters overwhelmingly rejected in 2024.
That’s why Wong’s campaign sent her out for a friendly interview with CNN’s left-wing host Kaitlan Collins to clean up the damage and try and rescue the campaign.
But it went badly.
“Do you still believe that Thanksgiving should be canceled?” Collins asked.
Wong couldn’t even deliver a simple yes-or-no answer and instead uncorked a word salad full of woke buzzwords, concluding by claiming that her past career as a chef made her well-qualified to serve as Wisconsin’s governor.
“I’m a chef, and one of the first meals that I made that was for the community when i was 16 was a Thanksgiving meal. I always think my hospitality background and owning a restaurant for 7-8 years, that bringing folks around the table to share conversation and build community is always a good thing.
But Thanksgiving is also a time that’s incredibly painful for many people in our communities. So I think there I wanted to make sure people understood there are multiple views, but views can evolve.
And the position I’m running for right now — and I think my background as a chef will actually help me become a better governor that’s able to bring more people to the table,” Wong rambled.
Democrats Throw in the Towel
Both socialist and establishment Democrats are writing off Hong as a sure-fire loser.
Bernie Sanders, who is endorsing socialists in races across the country, claimed he wasn’t familiar with Hong when asked why he wasn’t endorsing her.
“I don’t think so,” Sanders told the hosts of Pod Save America.
“I met a Francesca [Hong] a couple of years ago in Wisconsin, and she seems very, very nice,” Sanders continued. “But again, this is a race I’m just not that familiar with.”
Wisconsin’s current Democrat Governor Tony Evers delivered a stake through the heart of her campaign when he told reporters, “probably not” when asked if he thought Wong could be Tiffany.
Losing this race means losing more than the Wisconsin Governor’s mansion.
It also means Democrats will lose control of state election machinery in 2028.
