The government has been sitting on these files for years.
Now, one account from a former Pentagon insider is raising questions nobody in Washington wants to answer.
And the latest UAP document dump just unearthed a chilling sighting that will leave you stunned.
A Former Pentagon Man Sees Something Over Colorado
The fifth release of declassified UAP files includes an FBI account involving a former Pentagon employee who reported observing a nearly translucent triangular object over his Colorado home in October 2023.
Multiple FBI agents interviewed the former Department of Defense employee, who said he saw a dark “perfect triangle” shaped object in the sky. According to the report, FBI officials said at around 10:50 p.m., the former employee and his wife were sitting on the back porch of their residence in Colorado Springs.
The object was reportedly “completely silent,” and the former Pentagon employee said he “did not feel any rumble, static or any other effects from the object as it passed over him.” The UFO “looked like a perfect triangle… without any extra wings, fins, or any bubble for the engine housing,” according to the summary report.
It also “appeared almost see-through,” with “what appeared to be a haze or distortion around it… as if you were looking thru mist; and that there were ripples like you were looking at an object that is underwater.”
The witness said the object was completely silent and may have passed as low as 300 feet above the ground. He told investigators that he was familiar with conventional aircraft but saw no visible wings, fins, or engine housing on the object.
The couple lived near the airport, and the man was familiar with all US Air Force aircraft, including the latest drones, and the UAP did not match anything he had encountered before.
He reported that the UFO “covered a large distance” in a “straight path” at a “consistent elevation.” However, it abruptly changed to an almost vertical position without altering its route or elevation just before he and his wife lost sight of it.
That detail alone — a silent object banking nearly vertical while holding its altitude and heading — rules out every known civilian aircraft and most military platforms. The man knew what he was looking at. He spent his career around this stuff.
Officials created image renderings of the UAP based on the witness’s description. The FBI does not typically commission artistic reconstructions of weather balloons.
Colorado Springs Is Not a Random Backyard
Tucked into this release is a separate set of files detailing two UAP encounters near Colorado Springs in 2023. Colorado Springs is home to a dense cluster of military and space infrastructure, including NORAD and Peterson Space Force Base, so any UAP activity in that airspace tends to draw extra scrutiny.
A second witness, interviewed in October 2025, reported seeing a “large triangle with red lights” overhead. The Department of War says parts of the interview were redacted to protect sensitive information.
Two separate triangle sightings, same city, same month. One witness is a former Defense Department employee. The other is described as someone who regularly watches military and commercial aircraft pass over the area. Neither of them is a crank.
Officials say the materials in the files are unresolved cases where the government was “unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena.” That language matters. “Unresolved” does not mean dismissed. It means investigators looked and could not explain it.
The Triangle Over Bagram and the Gunship Full of Orbs
The Colorado sightings are not even the most striking items in this batch.
According to a declassified FBI account, “At approximately 4:30 AM local time, [redacted] noticed that the stars were getting blacked out over Bagram. It appeared as if something huge went overhead, from west to east, and was an equilateral triangle shape. The object was moving silently, at a consistent speed and altitude, possibly 150 knots, with no lights visible.” The pilot “estimated it was 500 feet in size, but he could not fully see the shape of the object.”
Harvard University astrophysicist and UAP researcher Avi Loeb called the account “remarkable,” given the purported size of the triangle. “It’s actually 500 feet in size. That’s bigger than any aircraft ever built,” he told “Jesse Weber Live.”
The largest aircraft ever constructed by any nation spans roughly 385 feet. Whatever those two pilots watched pass silently over Bagram in the early morning hours of 2002 was bigger than that, left no sound, and carried no lights. He reported that the pilot he was with “also observed the triangle, and when it passed over stated, ‘did you see that?'”
And then there is the Gulf of Oman.
Six of the videos show different versions of the same incident — an encounter over the Gulf of Oman by Special Operations forces on an AC-130J gunship in September 2021. The clips are cellphone videos of screens on the gunship, showing objects picked up by its infrared and other sensors. An accompanying intelligence report sheds more light on the footage. The report said the forces onboard the gunship “observed approximately 25 instances of UAPs while conducting a live fire exercise in the Gulf of Oman.”
“The UAPs were observed as cold orbs flying at lower altitudes between 250 to 1300 MPH in different formations as well as maneuvering aggressively. UAPs also appeared to react to the aircraft firing its main cannon,” the report said.
That last sentence deserves a second read. The objects did not just appear. They reacted. A full Special Operations crew, aboard a combat gunship, during a live-fire exercise, watched 25 unidentified objects respond to weapons fire. The Pentagon’s own UAP office could not resolve the incident.
Trump Ordered This. The Files Keep Coming.
The release comes after President Donald Trump first teased declassifying the files on UAPs in February and ordered War Secretary Pete Hegseth to declassify them in April. The first batch was released in May.
The 41 new files, posted on the Pentagon’s UAP website, include a mix of documents, images, and videos. The records come from the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, State Department, and Executive Office of the President, with the oldest being from 1950 and the most recent being from this year.
In a statement, Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell said: “Today, the Department of War is publishing the fifth release of declassified and historical Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files as part of the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE).”
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said additional disclosures are already being prepared. “The Department will release additional files on a rolling basis,” Parnell said, adding that the department and other federal agencies are working on the next release.
Five batches in, the picture that’s forming is not of a government slowly walking back decades of denial. It looks more like an agency that genuinely does not know what these things are — and is finally being forced to say so out loud.
“If you actually look through the reports, these are pilots in many cases, they are service members, who have decades of experience. And they’re reporting things that they simply cannot explain, and the FBI, again, is putting quite a bit of resources into investigating these sightings,” UAP researcher Marik von Rennenkampff told NewsNation.
The origin of these objects remains genuinely unknown. They could represent advanced technology developed by a foreign adversary — which would be a serious national security problem. They could be classified US programs that even senior officials lack clearance to discuss. Or they are something else entirely, something no existing explanation covers.
What they are not is imaginary. A former Defense Department employee sitting on his back porch in Colorado Springs saw something pass over his house at 300 feet, silently, in a shape no aircraft in the US inventory matches. The FBI sent multiple agents to interview him. They drew pictures. And now the government has published those pictures for the world to see.
The files are available at WAR.GOV/UFO. More are coming. The question is whether Washington has the nerve to follow the evidence wherever it leads.
