Republican voters believed party leaders wanted the GOP to win the midterm elections.
But the base got some bad news,

The GOP Establishment is Throwing the Texas Senate Race
The Republican establishment would rather see Democrats win the Senate than help Ken Paxton defeat Democrat James Talarico after Paxton routed establishment incumbent RINO John Cornyn in the primary.
Paxton crushed Cornyn by 27 points after Cornyn came out for amnesty and wrote Joe Biden’s gun control bill.
President Trump also endorsed Paxton one week before the vote, after Cornyn called Trump unelectable and urged voters to move on before the 2024 election.
The Real Clear Politics polling average shows Talarico leading Paxton by 2.4%, and Conservative radio host Jesse Kelly told Megyn Kelly (no relation) that GOP leadership in the Senate is ecstatic over the prospect of Paxton losing so they can tell the base “I told you so.”
“The GOP Senate wants Ken Paxton to lose the election so they can look at the GOP Primary voter and say ‘don’t ever try that again’… If they could politically get away with it, they would be running ads for James Talarico,” Kelly stated.
The Establishment’s Sabotage Plan
The GOP establishment cut off funding for Paxton, allowing Talarico to build a $72 million to $16.8 million fundraising advantage.
Cornyn refuses to raise money for Paxton.
RINO Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) won’t authorize the Senate Leadership Fund to spend one penny of the $258 million war chest on Texas.
The National Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee also won’t spend a nickel on TV ads backing Paxton.
Instead, Thune is whining about President Trump’s MAGA Inc. Super PAC needing to do all the work.
“We certainly hope so,” Thune told Fox News host Martha MacCallum about whether Trump’s Super PAC will begin spending money on the midterms. “We are certainly hopeful that the president and his team at MAGA Inc. will be engaged in some of these races.”
“Have you talked to the president about that money?” MacCallum asked.
“We continue to weigh in,” Thune added. “I think that they are starting to engage and hopefully will do more as these races start to tighten up.”
Thune then specifically referenced Texas as the state the Trump Super PAC needed to intervene in.
“I’m hoping the White House will become engaged,” Thune stated. “Because Texas is such an expensive state, we’re gonna need the president and his team to be engaged there and to be putting resources into that race.”
Thune shouldn’t need to beg Trump to plunk down tens of millions of dollars in Texas.
That’s because it’s supposed to be Thune’s job to elect Republicans to the Senate.
But the GOP establishment wants to take its ball and go home because their preferred RINO lost a primary, even if it means handing control of the Senate over to socialists and effectively ending Trump’s Presidency.
