Vice President JD Vance is stepping up his political activities ahead of the midterm election.
But Vance wasn’t prepared for this,
And JD Vance heard one key word that left him speechless.
Vance Receives Rockstar Reception From the GOP Grassroots
All signs are pointing to Vance as the heir apparent in 2028.
Vance addressed delegates from key battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin at the GOP midterm convention in Dallas, Texas.
The fired-up activists chanted “48” – meaning they want Vance to succeed Trump as America’s 48th President – during his speech.
“Delegates from key battleground states serenaded Vice President JD Vance with chants of “48” during a closed-door breakfast Thursday in Dallas, according to four people in the room,” POLITICO reported.
Vance made the case that if Republicans wanted to defy history and maintain their Congressional majorities this November, they needed to frame the election as a referendum on the Democrats’ radical socialist agenda and thirst for partisan revenge against President Trump.
“We’ve got to nationalize this election, we’ve got to talk about all the crazy things Democrats are doing,” Vance told the attendees that a Democrat majority in Congress would “bury the American people in investigations and bulls**** for the next two years.”
The Field Opens for Vance
It becomes clearer by the day that Vance will be the GOP nominee for President in 2028.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio, whom establishment Republicans are begging to challenge Vance in the hopes that Rubio can restore the pre-Trump status quo in the GOP, told reporters he won’t run for President in 2028.
“I don’t know what the future holds, but I have no plans at this time,” Rubio told reporters during a trip to Colombia. “I’m not a candidate for anything right now. And I’m 100 percent focused on my job, and I have to be because I have two jobs.”
President Trump is also telling supporters that it’s time to get behind Vance as the candidate for 2028.
“President Donald Trump recently told donors in private that he wants to see his vice president win the 2028 presidential election — a sign that he is open to publicly backing JD Vance, even as some advisers caution that Trump has yet to settle firmly on a successor.
“’At the end of the day, we need to elect JD,’ Trump said during an Oval Office meeting with donors roughly two weeks ago, according to two people with knowledge of the comments who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter,” the Washington Post reported.
Polls show GOP voters agree.
A recent Focaldata/Financial Times survey showed Vance held a more than 20-point lead among Republicans in a 2028 Presidential primary.
The 2028 primary is likely to come down to who rank-and-file Republicans believe is best suited to carry on President Trump’s legacy and build on it.
Right now, all indications are that it is JD Vance.
