Maria Salazar Attacks Trump and Calls for Amnesty
Three-term Republican Congresswoman Maria Salazar represents a Miami-based Congressional District that is over 70 percent Hispanic.
Salaza is one of those establishment RINOs who thinks the only way Republicans can win Latino votes is by promising amnesty to illegal aliens.
President Trump proved this to be a lie when he won a higher percentage of the Hispanic vote each time he ran for President, reaching 46% in 2024, by instead promising mass deportations of illegal aliens.
Salazar is one of those establishment Republicans that conservatives think secretly hopes Democrats win in 2026 so Congress can force an amnesty bill in law.
In a stunning move, Salazar released a new campaign commercial attacking President Trump for ‘betraying’ Hispanic voters by carrying out deportations.
“Mr. President, some of your immigration enforcement efforts have gone too far. In July, 50% of the 50,000 people that were detained had no criminal record. Be careful what your advisers are telling you about immigration policy,” Salazar stated,
Salazar went on to say that “the same Hispanics who helped you get to the White House in 2024 feel betrayed today.”
Salazar then went on to claim Trump could go down in history like Ronald Reagan winning the Cold War if he signed her so-called “Dignity” Act, which grants amnesty to tens of millions of illegal aliens, into law.
“You can be for immigration what Lincoln was for slavery, and Reagan was for communism. I’m not talking about giving them amnesty. I’m talking about giving them a dignified life in this promised land,” Salazar continued.
Hispanic Voters Reject Salazar’s Amnesty Push
Hispanic voters, like all Trump supporters, voted for mass deportations of illegal aliens.
And if the Latinos in Salazar’s district feel betrayed by Trump’s deportation push and want amnesty for illegal aliens, that’s news to them.
Latino voters in Salazar’s district expressed disgust at Salazar backstabbing Trump and calling for amnesty,
“She’s out of line,” Miami resident Hector Rubio told the Washington Post.
Rubio called for even more aggressive deportation policy, saying that Trump “is doing what he can, and he could do even more.”
That sentiment was widespread among Hispanic voters across Salazar’s district.
“The people who voted for Trump — the 70 or so million — one of the reasons was because they wanted to get all the illegal people out of here,” South Miami resident Richard Santos also told the Post.
Establishment Republicans like Salazar are never going to give up on amnesty and will continue to push the lie that the key to winning Hispanic voters is supporting amnesty for illegal aliens.
