Joe Biden thinks January 6 is Donald Trump’s biggest weakness.

Some Republicans looks like they agree.

And now Ron DeSantis said one thing about January 6 that stunned Trump into silence.

Donald Trump set off a political earthquake by revealing that anti-Trump special counsel Jack Smith sent his lawyers a letter indicating Trump is a target of the January 6 grand jury investigation.

This letter means Smith is expected to arrest Trump for contesting the results of the 2020 election on seditious conspiracy charges.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Trump’s announcement stepped all over the big rollout of the DeSantis campaign reboot.

DeSantis traveled to South Carolina where he hoped to reset the narrative around his campaign by announcing a new policy to expel woke ideology from the U.S. military and a sit-down interview with liberal activist and CNN host Jake Tapper.

But DeSantis cut a planned press conference short after taking just four questions which included a disastrous answer where DeSantis copied Liz Cheney talking points and attacked Donald Trump over watching the insurrection he incited unfold.

“Look, there’s a difference between being brought up on criminal charges and doing things. Like for example, I think it was shown how he was in the White House and didn’t do anything while things were going on. He should have come out more forcefully, of course,” DeSantis stated. “But to try to criminalize that, that’s a different issue entirely.”

This is the false narrative the media, the January 6 committee and Joe Biden want Americans to believe.

Jack Smith likely intends to try and jail Trump based on the argument DeSantis made about Trump encouraging the riot through his silence.

But Trump put out multiple tweets and a video message on January 6 asking his supporters to leave the Capitol and go home.

DeSantis is walking a tightrope in trying to appeal to both the MAGA base and Never Trumpers.

The Florida governor tried to straddle that line in his comments about Jack Smith’s political hatchet job to meddle in the 2024 election.

But Trump supporters believe DeSantis’s comments about January 6 missed the mark.
