And one Fox News guest just revealed the racist reason Democrats hate Sydney Sweeney and Sophie Cunningham.
CJ Pearson Calls Out The Real Motive Behind The Outrage
Conservative influencer CJ Pearson told Fox News viewers not to overthink it: liberals hate Sydney Sweeney because she’s a “hot blonde woman.”
Pearson made the comments during an appearance on The Faulkner Focus, where he addressed the meltdown over Sweeney’s newest ad campaign.
Pearson slammed the left for wigging out about Sweeney’s new naked gambling ad for Novig, a sports betting app.
He didn’t stop with Sweeney.
Pearson argued the uproar is all based on Sweeney being a beautiful blonde woman, just like the frenzy surrounding WNBA star Sophie Cunningham over the past few months, and claimed liberals would have had no problem if a trans influencer was parading around nude in the ad instead.
“She drives the left crazy!” Pearson said.
He wasn’t finished.
“I don’t know what’s worse these days, Trump Derangement Syndrome or Sydney Sweeney Derangement Syndrome.”
He continued, “Let’s talk about the only crime that Sydney Sweeney has committed: being a hot blonde woman.
That’s why they hate Sophie Cunningham. That’s why they hate anyone who doesn’t tow their line that they believe is okay, or passes their muster.
Now if this was Dylan Mulvaney and we said we didn’t want to see this, they’d be upset at us.”
That last line lands harder than it might seem at first.
Mulvaney, a biological male who identifies as a woman, was celebrated by corporate America and the entertainment press when he became the face of a Bud Light campaign a couple years back.
Pearson’s point is that the same activists who cheered that on suddenly discover a moral crisis the moment an actual woman shows up looking like one.
Faulkner seemed thoroughly impressed with Pearson’s rant, letting out a big “wow” when he finished.
The Pattern Extends Well Beyond One Actress
Pearson’s reaction came after several outlets reported some women and female athletes were outraged with the “hypersexualized” ad, which showed Sweeney holding up two footballs to her bare chest and lounging around the locker room in the buff.
One female surfer from Australia told CNN Sweeney’s ad was “very damaging, especially for young females.”
Another Aussie Olympian whined the ad was a “kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft.”
It’s worth asking where that same energy was when women’s sports magazines and networks ran nearly nude spreads of female athletes for years and called it empowerment.
Nobody organized a press tour to denounce those.
Sophie Cunningham has faced a similar double standard all year, and it isn’t really about an ad or a photo shoot.
It’s about a WNBA player who has been willing to stand up for keeping biological men out of girls’ and women’s locker rooms and out of women’s competition, and that position alone is enough to make her a target for the league’s activist wing and its media allies.
That’s the binary nobody on the left wants to admit exists.
Either a league bans biological males from women’s sports, which is an admission that sex is real and that identifying as a woman doesn’t change it, or a league allows it, and women’s sports as a meaningful category stops existing because teams gain every incentive to recruit male athletes willing to check the right box.
There’s no polite middle position that lets everybody keep their trophy and their dignity.
Cunningham picked a side, and the WNBA’s leftist, woke culture has never quite forgiven her for it.
What This Says About The Left’s Real Priorities
Pearson’s larger argument is that none of this is actually about eugenics jokes, hypersexualization, or protecting young girls from bad messaging.
It’s about punishing women who won’t perform the politics the professional activist class demands of them.
Sweeney getting attacked for a jeans commercial about genetics earlier this year followed the exact same script.
Critics manufactured an offense, reporters amplified it, and the actual substance of the complaint evaporated under five minutes of scrutiny.
But the underlying message was never subtle.
A conventionally attractive, traditionally feminine woman who doesn’t apologize for either one is treated as a provocation by people who have spent a decade insisting that beauty standards are oppressive right up until a woman who doesn’t fit their politics happens to meet them.
And Cunningham gets the same treatment for defending the idea that biological reality still matters in a locker room.
Neither woman did anything except decline to go along with an ideological script that most of the country already rejected once cameras stopped rolling on the last decade of corporate wokeness.
The next controversy will look different on the surface.
It will probably involve another actress, another athlete, or another public woman who simply exists without genuflecting to the approved talking points.
But the underlying complaint, once you strip away the borrowed language about empowerment and body image, tends to come back to the same place Pearson pointed to on Fox News: an attractive, unapologetic woman who won’t play along is a threat to people who built entire careers on the idea that she should feel bad about herself.
That’s not a coincidence, and it isn’t going away anytime soon.
