Democrat prosecutor Alvin Bragg wants to stack the deck against Donald Trump in his criminal trial.
Bragg is getting some big-league help.
And now Alvin Brag has scored one win that will make Trump erupt with rage.
Democrat Judge Juan Merchan performed another favor for Bragg when he hit Trump with a gag order that “prohibits him from attacking witnesses, prosecutors and jurors, the latest effort to rein in the former president’s wrathful rhetoric about his legal opponents.”
Merchan’s order doesn’t prevent Trump from attacking Merchan or Bragg.
But it does allow Merchan to monitor the political speech of the Republican nominee for president and send him to jail for comments Merchan – a partisan Democrat who donated to Joe Biden in 2020 – doesn’t like.
Merchan relied on the new attitude among liberals that speech equates to violence as one of the central underpinnings of the American left’s political project is criminalizing free speech under the guise of preventing physical or emotional harm.
Should Merchan decide Trump violated this order he has the ability to revoke Donald Trump’s bond and make him rot on Rikers Island during the trial.
“His statements were threatening, inflammatory, denigrating,” Merchan’s First Amendment-shredding gag order read.
What set Merchan off was a Truth Social post by Trump calling out Merchan for his obscene bias during the case ripping Merchan for an extreme case of Trump Derangement Syndrome while also exposing the fact that Merchan’s daughter did work for a consulting firm that counted Russia collusion hoaxer Adam Schiff as a client.
“His daughter is a senior executive at a Super Liberal Democrat firm that works for Adam ‘Shifty’ Schiff, the Democrat National Committee, (Dem)Senate Majority PAC, and even Crooked Joe Biden. He was recently the judge on an unrelated trial of a long term employee, elderly and not in good health. This judge treated him viciously, telling him either you cooperate or I’m putting you in jail for 15 years. He pled and went to jail for very minor offenses, highly unusual, served 4 months in Rikers, and now they are after him again, this time for allegedly lying (doesn’t look like a lie to me!), and they threatened him again with 15 years if he doesn’t say something bad about ‘TRUMP.’ He is devastated and scared! These COUNTRY DESTROYING SCOUNDRELS & THUGS HAVE NO CASE AGAINST ME. WITCH HUNT!” Trump began.
The Democrat Party’s campaign of lawfare against Donald Trump isn’t just limited to rigging trials to secure preordained guilty verdicts.
Democrats also know ideological allies on the bench can control the proceedings to keep Trump pinned down in court so he can’t campaign or – in this case – limit his speech by setting up tripwires Democrats can use to jail Trump before Election Day.
