Alvin Bragg under fire for allowing NYC crime to flourish

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg thought it was going to be his moment to shine.

Instead, it turned into a national embarrassment.

And Alvin Bragg could end up getting fired because of one phone call.

Jury selection in Bragg’s political show trial against Donald Trump is now underway, and for the first time in history, a former President faces criminal charges.

But that’s only happening because a Democrat prosecutor won an election in a deep blue city by campaigning on the promise of jailing Donald Trump.

A Democrat judge who donated to Joe Biden will oversee this judicial farce.

Other New Yorkers are furious that Bragg is seeking political glory and meddling in the 2024 election with a cockamamie case based on a legal theory no fair-minded person would accept while crime on the subway flourishes.

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY) told Fox News host Maria Bartiromo this travesty wouldn’t be happening if Lee Zeldin – the Republican who came within six points of ousting Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul – had won the election in 2022 because Zeldin would have fired Bragg.

Tenney said all Democrats care about is accumulating political power and wondered why Hochul was missing-in-action on holding Bragg accountable for endangering the lives of New Yorkers through his soft-on-crime policies.

It’s always politics with the Democrats. It is always politics. It is always about the lust for power. And that’s what they do. Everything they can, whether it’s election interference, whether it’s lawfare, this malicious prosecution by people, and all they like, whether it’s Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, look at let me tell you something. If Lee Zeldin were our governor, he would have fired Alvin Bragg. And that was one of the things he ran on. Why hasn’t Kathy Hochul fired Alvin Bragg? She has said, I stand up for the people of this state. Why hasn’t she fired this guy? She could easily do that. And he’s, you know, attacked, going after innocent citizens or law-abiding citizens in New York instead of protecting us. And, and this malicious prosecution is what we face every day,” Tenney stated.

While Bragg was falsely claiming the fabricated crimes he planned to put Trump on trial for was a grave “threat to democracy,” street crime in NYC is still above pre-pandemic levels.

In an incident that summed up Bragg’s disastrous tenure as Manhattan District Attorney, Bragg allowed a group of illegal alien thugs who had beaten New York City police officers in the middle of the street to waltz out of jail because Bragg didn’t require bail following their arrest.

POLITICO even admitted Bragg was motivated by his 2025 re-election campaign to charge Trump, reporting that “Bragg faced incredible political pressure from his Democratic base to indict Trump.”

Bartiromo picked up Tenney’s thread and wondered why Hochul hadn’t fired Bragg – even going so far as to say she would call Governor Hochul and demand to know when she would fire Bragg.

“And that’s what the NYPD keeps telling us about recidivism. Why, Governor Kathy Hochul, are you allowing recidivism? Why are you not firing Alvin Bragg for allowing criminals to keep doing it over and over again? We would like an answer. I’ll call your office today, Kathy Hochul. I’d love an answer,” Bartiromo stated.

Additionally, New York Mayor Eric Adams appeared on New York Mornings on 1 and also explained the problem with Bragg’s coddling of criminals.

Adams told viewers that a small number of recidivist criminals are the ones causing all the problems as police were able to link just 38 people arrested for assault on the subway to 1,126 other crimes in New York.

The mayor said the consequences of not locking up career criminals extend beyond the subway.

“But it doesn’t stop there: 542 people who are arrested for shoplifting committed 7,600 crimes in our city. So, we don’t have a surge in crime. We have a surge in recidivism,” Adams stated.

Alvin Bragg is letting mayhem, violence, and crime run rampant in the subways and on the streets of New York all because his number one priority is trying to jail the Republican nominee for President out of partisan political vengeance.
