The fallout from one Washington sex scandal is still spreading.

The ultimate consequences look unthinkable.

And one damning video may have this top Democrat staring at jail time.

Congressman Eric Swalwell ended his campaign for Governor of California and resigned his seat in the House of Representatives after a former female staffer alleged that Swalwell raped her when she was too intoxicated to consent to sexual intercourse.

“I am deeply sorry to my family, staff, and constituents for the mistakes in judgment I’ve made in my past. I will fight the serious false allegations made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I made,” Swalwell’s resignation statement read.

“I’m aware of efforts to bring an immediate expulsion vote against other members and me. Expelling anyone in Congress without due process within days of allegations being made is wrong. But it’s also wrong for my constituents to have me distracted from my duties,” the statement continued.

But Swalwell’s political problems may be giving way to legal issues.

That’s because of the contents of a video that surfaced on social media that appeared to show Swalwell kissing a woman while someone recorded the encounter on a camera phone.

Swalwell resigned his seat because Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) was about to introduce a resolution to expel him from Congress.

Luna wrote on social media that there were more shoes to drop and that Swalwell was trying to hide the identity of who filmed this episode.

“I am being told there will be more disgusting stuff coming out on Swallwell in the next 24 hours. For the members of Congress who are concerned about optics on expelling Swalwell, I think after the information drops, you will be thinking otherwise,” Luna wrote on X.

Luna added, “Eric, why don’t you tell us a little about who was filming the video of the female sex worker?”

In an interview with Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters, Luna expanded on her social media post, saying she believes Swalwell could face jail time.

“I do think he has serious criminal problems on his hands, and I do think he might end up in jail,” Luna stated.

Luna said the video was real and not AI and alleged that Swalwell could face criminal charges when she claimed that the person who filmed Swalwell may have been underage.

“Forensics say the video wasn’t AI… the individual that recorded that video in that HOTEL ROOM was a FEMALE, and she was UNDERAGE,” Luna added.

“MORE is coming in 24 HOURS,” Luna promised.
