Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is one of the most talked-about Democrats in America.
Much of the buzz centers on her potential 2028 Presidential campaign.
And AOC got called one lunatic name that hit her like a freight train.
Maoist Organization Blasts AOC as an ‘Opportunist’
The Marxist-Leninist-Maoist caucus, founded in 2025, is a communist subgroup of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA).
With DSA candidates sweeping to primary victory after primary victory, it appeared that the field was wide open for DSA-aligned Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to ride that momentum to the White House in 2028.
But the Liberation Caucus just released a statement condemning Ocasio-Cortez as an opportunist insufficiently committed to the Palestinian cause.
“Liberation condemns Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s continued retreat from socialist politics and rejects any effort to present her as the future presidential standard-bearer for DSA, or for the broader socialist movement,” the statement read.
“In short, it was determined that she had failed to meet conditions concerning Palestine solidarity,” the statement added.
The DSA withdrew its endorsement of Ocasio-Cortez in 2024 for hosting a panel with the Zionist Jewish Council for Public Affairs.
Ocasio-Cortez also drew the DSA’s ire for signing a statement that supported Israel’s right to obtain defensive weapons systems.
The Liberation Caucus also trashed Ocasio-Cortez for trying to minimize the 2020 defund the police movement as “Woke 1.”
“She has dismissed the mass radicalization around policing and abolition as part of the supposed excesses of ‘Woke 1’, seeking to reduce the historic Black-led uprising of 2020 to an embarrassing political phase,” the statement went on to say.
“Ironically, her first electoral victory came in the heat of ‘Woke 1’, where she trafficked in the language of abolition. Now that she feels that she no longer needs it, she condemns it. This is the action of an opportunist dilettante, devoid of any principles whatsoever, not a socialist,” the statement continued.
The DSA Disowns AOC Ahead of 2028
The DSA, whose platform calls for the abolition of the Senate, the Presidency and the Supreme Court, also disavowed an Ocasio-Cortez 2028 White House bid, slamming her as an imperialist.
“This is why the current rumblings for and prospects of an AOC presidential campaign should be met with a clear answer from the socialist left: No,” the DSA’s statement declared. “We will not endorse or give succor to a campaign to put a social democrat at the head of an empire, where she will make even more capitulations to the imperialists, and drag our organization into antagonistic contradiction after antagonistic contradiction.”
But this could all be playacting or “kayfabe,” what they call in professional wrestling when two performers pretend to hate one another to generate ticket sales for an upcoming match.
That’s because Democrats know it’s highly unlikely Americans will elect an avowed socialist President in 2028.
By slamming Ocasio-Cortez as a fraud and not a true believer, the DSA is actually working to elect Ocasio-Cortez by trying to make her more palatable to voters by declaring she is a “normal” Democrat.
