Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s 2028 decision hangs over the Democrat Party.
It looks like AOC’s mind is leaning in one direction.
And AOC just made one massive promise that proves she’s running for President in 2028.
AOC to Campaign in Florida
Democrat Socialist Angie Nixon’s win in the Florida Senate primary over Schumer-backed Eugene Vindman, when Vindman outraised her $16 million to less than $1 million, proved socialists were the power in the party.
President Trump won Florida by double digits in 2024, so no one expected the race between Nixon and incumbent Republican Ashley Moody to be close.
But a shocking St. Pete Polls survey showed Moody and Nixon tied at 45%.
“Moody and Nixon each have 45% support among likely General Election voters. Before rounding, Moody leads by four-tenths of a percentage point. Another 3% picked someone else, and 7% are undecided with less than seven weeks until Election Day,” Florida Politics reported.
The close race drew Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Florida with a promise to double down on the socialist message.
“We need to be talking about healthcare and wages and they want to be swinging a lot of racially ,wrong and bigoted things back and forth because they want us talking about that,” Ocasio-Cortez told the Floridan.
When asked if she intended to campaign in Florida for Nixon, Ocasio-Cortez answered in the affirmative.
Yeah, I mean, we’ll see. I’m always open to to wherever people want me to be there, so I look forward to being back in Florida soon,” Ocasio-Cortez added.
“Whenever people say someone is the AOC of somewhere else, I always say they’re the first them,” Ocasio-Cortez continued. “You know, like Angie Nixon is a history maker in her own right and deserves to stand in her name in her own right.”
Stumping for down-ballot candidates is one way for prospective White House hopefuls to build their name with the base.
And Ocasio-Cortez campaigning with Angie Nixon would be another sign she intends to step in and run in 2028 as the heir to the Bernie Sanders movement.
Who is Angie Nixon?
Angie Nixon is claiming she isn’t a socialist.
“You know, when people’s voice start getting squeaky and really high-pitched, usually they’re lying. And Ashley Moody knows that I’m not a socialist,” Nixon ranted.
But Nixon joined the Democrat Socialists of America (DSA).
And Nixon’s platform is ripped right from the DSA’s playbook of abolishing prisons and borders.
Nixon’s website declares that she supports “ending mass incarceration,” “demilitarizing police,” and turning to “community-based public safety, violence prevention and crisis response,” which was the stated policy goal of the defund the police movement.
On her website, Nixon also adopts the language of the open borders lobby, stating there is no such thing as an illegal alien.
“I don’t believe any person is illegal,” Nixon says on her website.
Nixon also calls for “Abolishing ICE,” declaring that “it should be dismantled.”
Ocasio-Cortez is eager to promote Nixon because she wants to establish herself as the socialist candidate in 2028.
