The relationship between President Trump and Fox News has seen its ups and downs.
But there is no mistaking where Fox News stands now.
And Fox News showed its true colors by launching this unhinged attack on Trump.
Trump Strikes Back at the Fake News Media
For ten years, the fake news media ran every smear campaign, hoax, and lie under the sun to destroy President Trump.
It all started with the Russia collusion hoax and continues to this day.
President Trump had enough and struck back, announcing that he banned three of the worst offenders in the fake news media, CNN, POLITICO, and MS NOW, from the White House.
“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico (The recipients of an illegal and ridiculous $8 Million Dollar subscription, an All Time Record, directly from the United States Government, under Crooked Joe Biden, in order to keep them “alive.” Seems like corruption to me!), from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS!” Trump posted to Truth Social.
Trump explained that there needed to be consequences for the fake news media’s deranged anti-Trump bias.
“Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States, the Trump Administration, or the United States of America,” Trump added that there were “Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”
Fox News Sides with the Fake News
When it came down to picking a side, Fox News personalities chose the fake news media.
Fox News White House correspondent and President of the White House Correspondents’ Association Jacqui Heinrich attacked Trump as an enemy of the free press.
“The Constitution protects the freedom of the press from government interference. That protection does not depend on whether the president likes a news organization’s coverage, agrees with its reporting, or approves of the questions its journalists ask.
This is about more than the rights of journalists. It is about the right of the American people to receive a full and independent account of the activities, policies and decisions of whoever occupies the nation’s highest office.
The WHCA stands in defense of our colleagues at CNN, MSNOW, and Politico who are being singled out for doing their jobs,” Heinrich’s statement read,
Anchor John Roberts wrote that “Obama tried to exclude Fox from certain White House access back in 2009. Lasted about a half a heartbeat. I expect this one will too.”
“100%. And If he thinks this will lead to more favorable coverage, I think he’s dreaming,” Fox News Senior Political Analyst Britt Hume stated.
“The WH media ban, even if you hate the targeted outlets, is a bad idea & bad precedent. It’s the sort of thing he does when he doesn’t feel like things are going well politically. Beyond his hardcore loyalist base, it achieves nothing and is exhausting,” Never Trump Fox News commentator Guy Benson wrote on X.
Can Trump Ban the Fake News
Despite the whining in the press, Trump has the authority to ban the fake news media.
A Federal Appeals court handed down a 2-1 ruling upholding Trump’s ban on the Associated Press from the Oval Office and Air Force One over its refusal to use the “Gulf of America” name, since those were invite-only areas.
Trump can ban media outlets from any area of the White House that isn’t generally open to the press or public.
And it was telling that the knee-jerk reaction from so many at Fox News was to instinctively side with the fake news media against Trump.
