Letitia James is Left Fuming After Appellate Court Hands Trump Massive Win in Civil Fraud Cause

New York Attorney General Letitia James stood on the brink of victory against Donald Trump.

But then James got the rug yanked right out from underneath her.

And Letitia James knew she failed after a judge returned this awful ruling.

The New York appeals court pulled the state back from the brink of becoming Communist China by slashing a bond Trump needed to post to stay enforcement of the judgment in James’ civil fraud lawsuit.

If the court allowed this blatantly unconstitutional judgment to go into effect, it would tell business owners around the world that coming to New York now represented a risk of financial extinction unless you played ball with the local elected officials.

Even though there were no victims, and the banks made money on their loans to Trump, Judge Engoron claimed Trump profited from inflating his assets and ordered James to disgorge him of “ill-gotten gains.”

If Trump couldn’t put up the bond, James could seize Trump’s properties and freeze his bank accounts while Trump appealed the judgment.

Democrats reacted with glee for days over the thought of James marching over to Trump Tower with a foreclosure notice, chaining the doors, and yanking the “Trump” sign off the exterior.

But just hours before the deadline for James to begin collecting on the judgment, the New York appellate division handed down a ruling drastically lowering the bond to $175 million and giving Trump an extra ten days to come up with the money.

A celebratory Trump thanked the court and told reporters he appreciated the decision and would pay the bond in cash before the deadline.

“I greatly respect the decision of the Appellate Division, and I’ll post either $175 million in cash or bond for security, whatever is necessary very quickly within the 10 days,” Trump stated adding, “and I thank the Appellate Division for acting quickly, but Judge Engoron is a disgrace to this country and this should not be allowed to happen.”

“It will be my honor to post [the bond],” Trump continued.

Trump went further and tore into James and Engoron for weaponizing the justice system against him for political purposes.

“This is all about election interference. This is all Biden-run … meaning Biden and his thugs because I don’t know if he knows he’s alive,” Trump added during a second statement to reporters. Biden “can’t win an election because of the borders, because of energy prices, because of inflation, because of Afghanistan,” Trump concluded.  “So what they do is they do election interference.”

James moped in her reaction while trying to claim the judgment was still in effect.

“The $464 million judgment — plus interest — against Donald Trump and the other defendants still stands,” the statement from James’ office declared.

“Donald Trump is still facing accountability for his staggering fraud,” the statement continued.

“The court has already found that he engaged in years of fraud to falsely inflate his net worth and unjustly enrich himself, his family, and his organization.”

But the appellate court lowering the bond shows that the judges know how ridiculous the punishment was against what Trump was accused of doing – defrauding no one – and it provides a “coming attraction” of sorts in the strong likelihood that they’ll further reduce or even entirely toss this judgment altogether.
