Michael Avenatti Rips Bragg’s Case Against Trump as “Weak”

Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s bogus criminal trial against Donald Trump is underway.

It’s already off the rails.

Alvin Bragg’s case against Trump has totally collapsed after this unexpected revelation.

No one would confuse Michael Avenatti for a Trump supporter.

Avenatti became a household name for his hundreds of media appearances as Stormy Daniels’s lawyer and for accusing Donald Trump of criminal conduct in the Stormy Daniels affair.

But now that Bragg is trying Trump on charges of falsifying business records after Michael Cohen paid Daniels $130,000 to finalize a nondisclosure agreement in 2016, the media assumed Avenatti was the natural go-to source for the case.

MSNBC’s Ari Melber found out the hard way what a bad idea that was.

Melber asked Avenatti the reasonable question of if he would testify in the case given his relationship with Daniels and presumed knowledge of events.

“Michael, have you been in touch with D.A. Bragg’s office?” Melber asked. “And what specifically in evidence or logic do you think is wrong with this case?”

Avenatti – who conducted the interview by phone from prison where he’s serving 14 years for obstruction and embezzling from clients – stunned Melber by ripping Bragg’s case as highly problematic but still sees a Trump conviction because Trump could never get a fair trial in a city where Biden received 84-percent of the vote in 2020.

“I’m going to decline to answer as to whether I’ve been in touch with either the defense or the D.A.s office,” Avenatti began.

“But let me say this in response to the second part of your question. You know, I think the case has a lot of problems. Now that– I don’t mean to suggest that means that Trump will not be convicted because I think he will be convicted because number one, he’s a criminal defendant in our society. I don’t believe criminal defendants generally get a fair shake.”

Avenatti asked MSNBC viewers to imagine how they would feel about Trump’s trial if it were held in the most ruby-red jurisdiction in America.

“I don’t think that he can get a fair trial in New York. And to the people who claim that in fact, he can get a fair trial in New York with a New York jury, I would ask them, if they were to go to sleep tonight and wake up tomorrow and find out that the case had been moved to Mississippi or Alabama, would they still think the trial was going to be fair?” Avenatti explained.

“And I think if they were being honest, they would answer no. So, I don’t think he can get a fair trial in New York,” Avenatti stated.

Bragg’s case rests on claiming Trump falsified business records in an attempt to cover up another crime, either a tax or campaign finance violation, that no prosecutor at either the federal or state level says exists.

According to Avenatti, this thin reed is even shakier because the case rests on the testimony of Cohen – who pled guilty to lying to Congress and whom another judge accused of perjury during a hearing where Cohen got denied early release.

“From my perspective, I surmise that the D.A. Is going to use potentially Michael Cohen or Stormy Daniels for that purpose,” Avenatti concluded. “And I think that has the potential to be a disaster. Michael Cohen – and you know I’ve never been a fan of Michael for various reasons – you know, he’s a serial liar. He’s shown himself to be incapable of telling the truth. His legal acumen leaves a lot to be desired. Let’s just say if Learned Hand or Clarence Darrow had a lovechild, it certainly wouldn’t be someone like Michael Cohen.”

Bragg is trying to put Trump on trial for legal conduct and is counting on an all-Democrat jury to buy it as a crime simply because they hate Donald Trump and want to keep him out of the White House.

Even a Trump critic like Michael Avenatti can see this case for what it is.
