Establishment RINOs schemed to box President Trump into a corner.
But Trump just pulled a rabbit out of his hat.
And Donald Trump just left RINO sellouts red with rage after this bold move.
RINOs led by Senate Majority Leader John Thune keep begging Trump to endorse RINO incumbent Texas Senator John Cornyn in his runoff primary against pro-Trump State Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Cornyn spent $69 million in the primary to limp into the runoff, winning just 42 percent of the vote.
Conservatives turned on Cornyn over Cornyn writing Joe Biden’s gun control bill and announcing his goal in running for another term was passing an amnesty bill for tens of millions of illegal aliens.
Thune and the rest of the GOP establishment argued to Trump that Cornyn was the only one who could defeat Democrat James Talirico, a woke leftist who masquerades as a preacher.
But Trump said he wouldn’t endorse Conryn unless the Senate passed the SAVE Act, the Trump-endorsed election integrity bill that mandates voter ID and proof of citizenship to register to vote.
Trump was on the verge of endorsing Cornyn until Paxton pulled off a master move.
Paxton called Thune and Cornyn’s bluff by offering to drop out of the race if they would defeat a Democrat filibuster and pass the SAVE Act.
Thune backed down because he secretly opposes the SAVE Act and claimed there was no way to break the Democrat filibuster, even though forcing Democrats to stage a talking filibuster would allow Republicans to pass the SAVE Act with a simple majority vote.
Trump then began hedging, telling reporters that while he still planned to endo.
“I’ll let you know that over the next week or so,” Trump told reporters when asked if he was still going to endorse Cornyn. I always liked him.”
Trump repeated that his endorsement would come down to passing the SAVE Act.
“A lot has to do with the SAVE America Act. A lot is going to determine — Republicans have to get that passed, because that will secure voting in this country,” Trump added.
When asked about Paxton’s offer to drop out if the Senate passed the SAVE Act, Trump said he didn’t know anything about that, and he liked Paxton, the one state Attorney General who sued at the Supreme Court to overturn the results of the 2020 election on the grounds of mass voter fraud.
“I’ve heard that. I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know. I don’t know that to be a fact,” Trump declared. “But I like him. I’ve always liked him. I like both candidates very much.”
Trump then delivered a massive blow to Cornyn’s hopes of endorsement when he said both candidates could defeat Talirico.
“No, I think they both win,” Trump said, while calling Democratic nominee James Talarico “so weak.”
Talirco said God is nonbinary and supports open borders, saying the border should serve as a “front porch” to welcome in illegal aliens.
Candidates who hold far-left positions like this don’t win elections in ruby red states like Texas.
Trump is also looking at pollen showing how weak a candidate Cornyn is.
If Trump endorses Paxton, Paxton wins the runoff in a landslide.
But if Trump endorses Cornyn, Trump’s support doesn’t even pull the anti-gun and pro-amnesty Cornyn even.

Trump’s endorsement is a powerful asset in politics.
And Trump won, so it wasn’t to waste on a RINO the conservative base hates who may lose anyway.
