The war with Iran is now in its second week.
President Trump demanded Iran’s unconditional surrender.
And Donald Trump unleashed one doomsday weapon that will scare the hell out of Iran.
The United States military recently conducted a test of a Minuteman III ballistic missile.
It’s nicknamed the doomsday missile because it ot the apocalyptic power of its payload.
“The Minuteman III ballistic missile — which is capable of carrying nuclear warheads 20 times more powerful than the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima — launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base near Santa Barbara at 11 p.m.
The unarmed rocket, known as GT 254, hit its intended target near the Marshall Islands in the west-central Pacific Ocean, according to the US Space Force,” the New York Post reports.
The test proved to be a success, and the military later explained why the test took place.
“It allowed us to assess the performance of individual components of the missile system,” a statement from the commander of the 576th Flight Test Squadron, Lt. Col. Karrie Wray, read.
“By continually assessing varying mission profiles, we can enhance the performance of the entire [intercontinental ballistic missile] fleet, ensuring the maximum level of readiness for the land-based leg of the nation’s nuclear triad,” the statement continued.
The military previously scheduled the test.
But it was hard not to notice that the U.S. military tested its most devastating weapon right as the war with Iran entered a new and more brutal phase.
As the test went on, President Trump told CNN’s Jake Tapper that U.S. and Israeli forces were pummeling Iran and that the “big one” was coming.
“We’re knocking the crap out of them,” Trump declared. “I think it’s going very well. It’s very powerful. We’ve got the greatest military in the world, and we’re using it.”
America would never use nuclear weapons first.
Trump meant that the U.S. and Israel would step up their conventional attacks on Iran.
But Trump also previously claimed Iran was two weeks away from being able to develop a nuclear weapon.
And the enriched Uranium Iran did develop is buried beneath the rubble of the nuclear facilities Trump ordered destroyed in Operation Midnight Hammer last June.
The uranium isn’t destroyed, and President Trump is considering options on how to recover and dispose of it.
The fear is that Iran could recover that uranium and quickly put together a nuclear weapon, which it could launch at Israel.
Trump wants Iran to understand that it is a foolish course of action by displaying the maximum deterrence at America’s disposal.
