You’ll be speechless when you see who Trump wants to replace Karoline Leavitt

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is stepping down.

That set off a parlor game of speculation about who will fill the role.

And you’ll be speechless when you see who Trump wants to replace Karoline Leavitt.

Karoline Leavitt Steps Down

Leavitt announced she was leaving her post to spend more time with her family following the birth of her daughter.

“Being a mother and welcoming a new baby while working in one of the most demanding jobs in the world has been the most rewarding yet challenging season of my life, to say the least. The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve while devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary — and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life,” Leavitt wrote on X.

The New York Post broke the news that former Trump lawyer, White House counselor, and acting US Attorney for New Jersey Alina Habba, Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle, MAGA stalwart Kari Lake, and CNN commentator Scott Jennings were the early favorites to replace Leavitt.

“Sources within and close to the administration told The Post that early front-runners for the role are believed to include Alina Habba, the former acting US attorney for New Jersey, and Breitbart Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle…

…Other names bandied about include pro-Trump commentator Scott Jennings and former Arizona political candidate Kari Lake, who presided over last year’s attempted dismantling of Voice of America while leading the federal agency that oversees the US-funded media outlet,” the Post reported.

Trump’s Actual Plan to Replace Leavitt

Independent journalist Mark Halperin reported that Trump’s actual plan to replace Leavitt was actually not to replace her and hope she comes back.

Halperin revealed on his 2way platform that Trump planned to leave the press secretary post vacant and use a rotating cast, like he did when Leavitt was on maternity leave, and Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent conducted the briefings, in case Leavitt changed her mind.

“The president doesn’t really want to replace her, and he secretly hopes she changes her mind. So he’s going to go back to a briefing every week or so like they did during maternity leave. Bring in a cabinet member… Maybe he’ll do it a time or two, and then he’ll wait it out through the midterms and see if she changes her mind,” Halperin stated.
